Waffles, Fried Chicken and Slovakian Langos at Dolina in Santa Fe

Dolina Cafe & Bakery is at 402 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501. Dolina Cafe and Bakery opened in Santa Fe in the summer of 2017. Dolina is Slovak for valley. Dolina Santa Fe says it serves Modern American Brunch with Eastern European Influences.

Owner Annamaria's blend of Slovakian dishes, American and New Mexican favorites, and baked goods quickly made Dolina a favorite destination for breakfast and lunch in Santa Fe. Annamaria came to the US when she was nineteen and ended up settling in Santa Fe. "I'm more of a casual person and I like cozy comfort foods," Annamaria said of Dolina.

We, the LIVIN team, visited Dolina Cafe & Bakery on the morning of Sunday, October 11, 2026. Outside Dolina, the patio has white chairs and round tables under large tan umbrellas, beside a building with a sign reading Dolina Cafe & Bakery. On Sundays, when Dolina opens a little later, a line of returning customers forms in front of the door, Annamaria said.

Annamaria's favorite kitchen tool at Dolina is her poppy seed grinder, because poppy seeds are a big part of Slovakian cooking and baking. When Annamaria started Dolina she only had a small hand grinder that her mother sent her from Slovakia. One of Annamaria's customers offered to buy her a large electric poppy seed grinder so that Annamaria could make one of the customer's favorite cakes, Makos Dios, more often. Annamaria's poppy seed grinder is made by an Italian espresso grinder company.

Dolina desserts are $7.00 a slice, including Banana Cream Pie, Meyer Lemon Shaker Pie, Lemon Cream Tart and a gluten free Chocolate Mousse. Dolina offers freshly baked pies sold by the slice or whole, and other baked goods.

The Dolina dining room has white walls, a white wood beam ceiling, a red tile floor, and long wooden tables with benches. On Sunday morning, October 11, 2026, the Dolina dining room was busy, with diners at nearly every table. Annamaria said her favorite part of running Dolina is seeing a dining room full of people engaging in conversation, gathering over freshly prepared food and feeling the comfort of home.

Dolina hours: Monday 7 AM to 2:30 PM; Tuesday closed; Wednesday through Saturday 7 AM to 2:30 PM; Sunday 8 AM to 2:30 PM. Dolina will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
